### Summary
**About the Position:** This is a permanent position as a Materials Examiner and Identifier (Motor Vehicle Operator/Forklift Operator) with the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security (DPTMS), Fort Jackson, SC.

### Responsibilities
* Performs a full range of warehousing duties at multiple sites, receives and ships from various locations and facilities.
* Stores, stacks, and palletizes Training Aids, Devices, Simulators and Simulations (TADSS) considering use, size, shape, weight, quantity, pilferage, contamination and safety to others.
* Coordinates with transportation representatives to properly schedule inbound and outbound shipments, avoid demurrage charges, and achieve the most efficient use of transportation resources.
* Operates motor vehicles and equipment, including automobiles, small and medium trucks to move the Training Aids, Devices, Simulators and Simulations (TADSS) from Point A to Point B throughout the Fort Jackson installation.
* Operates forklifts to load/unload, transfer, transport, stack or unstack palletized Training Aids, Devices, Simulators and Simulations (TADSS), vehicles and equipment from one location to another.
* Receives, examines, identifies, classifies and prepares or inspects documents received or turned in by various on-post and off-post sources of procurement, including a variety of contractors, commercial vendors, other federal agencies.
* Assumes custodial and property responsibility for vehicles, equipment, materials and fielding Training Aids, Devices, Simulators and Simulations (TADSS) pending issue, lateral transfer or shipment,

* Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
* This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
* This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter.
* The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
* This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
* This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a forklift license within three months of employment.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Materials Examiner and Identifier (Motor Vehicle Operator/Fork Lift Operator) without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common tasks including performing warehousing duties such as receiving, storing, material handling, issuing and shipping. I can operate motor vehicles and fork lifts to move supplies, equipment and materials throughout a designated area. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

* PHYSICAL EFFORT
This position requires a reasonable degree of physical fitness and agility in reaching, bending turning or moving hands, arms feet and legs. Physical fitness is required in the handling of objects up to 50 lbs or more usually with help or the use of lifting devices. Physical agility is routinely required to operate the controls of forklifts.
* WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed inside and outside in all kinds of weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, wind and blowing sand. Inside areas are generally well lighted, but are not environmentally controlled and can be dusty with the possibility of exposure to hazardous materials/waste occurring both inside and outside. While performing duties of this position the incumbent may be exposed to air-born contaminants and fumes as well as the possibility of cuts, bruises and broken bones. Incidents may occur while operating motor vehicles, such as objects falling when loading and unloading the vehicle, operating a forklift, or working around heavy equipment. The incumbent is required to take proper safety precautions, such as wearing safety equipment as appropriate for the task being undertaken.
